PACIFICA’S ROCK GARDEN and WATERFALL
The fascinating geology of the Klamath-Siskiyou Mountains, along with their unique climate, have created a magical place: home to Big Foot (and Little Foot!) along with an exciting diversity of plants.
Incredibly rich botanically, the Siskiyous deserve a fitting showcase that Pacifica is working to develop. Although the scope of this impressive 2-acre rock garden will be international, there will be an emphasis on plants of the Klamath-Siskiyou.
A place for visitors to easily (without hours of travel and hiking) learn about and enjoy some of this area’s and the world’s alpine treasures, the rock garden will also provide a magnificent frontispiece for the garden as a whole.
Originally designed by Josef Halda, an internationally renowned rock garden designer, it includes what Mr. Halda calls the “Czech-style” crevice garden. This technique allows even the home gardener to include “fussy alpines” in their collections. It also includes a 60’ water feature, a wonderful place to relax or picnic, and, from the top, beautiful views of the Siskiyou Mountains.
