Dr. Rodger Miller, President and Board Member
Rodger retired to Williams, Oregon in 1994. He graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1969 and practiced general dentistry in Vacaville, California for 25 years. He completed a tour of duty at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego and spent a year in Vietnam as a Navy dentist attached to the Marine Corps. He began his private practice in 1970 and served as Ethics Chairman and later as President of the Napa-Sonoma Dental Society. Rodger also operates Williams Valley Ranch, an organically-oriented farming operation which produces row crops and grass-fed cattle. Rodger is one of the founders of Pacifica and is working with staff to implement goals outlined by the board of directors.
Peg Prag, Board Member
Peg received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. Peg and her husband Ray have lived in Williams, Oregon since 1974. Together they created Forestfarm, one of the top-rated mail-order nurseries in the country. In the beginning, Peg shared every task necessary to grow plants, modeling her commitment to hands-on learning. Now retired from Forestfarm, she has been instrumental in the design and development of a computer system to track inventory, orders, plant work, client base and other functions necessary to support the nursery. She is an artist and a founder of the Pacifica Arts Guild. She and Ray were co-founders of the Williams Community Scholarship Fund. She is also one of the founders of Pacifica.
Dr. Lee Price, Treasurer and Board Member
Lee has a B.S. from Stanford in Engineering, an M.S. from MIT in Nuclear Engineering, and an MBA and Ph.D. from Stanford in Business. He retired as the managing Director of Dresdner RCM Global Investors in 2000. Lee was with Dresdner RCM Global Investors since 1972, becoming a Partner in 1976. During his tenure he filled the positions of financial analyst, equity portfolio manager, economist, strategist, director of MIS, and director of global client contacts. For 10 years, Lee and his wife, Kitty, ran their own business, Price Performance Measurement System, which helps clients calculate and present investment performance. Lee has served on the boards of several nonprofits including the CFA Institute; the Financial Accounting Foundation; Stanford’s Institute of International Studies; Hidden Villa; the University Club Scholarship Fund; Symphony Silicon Valley and George School. As one of the founders of Pacifica, Lee keeps track of Pacifica’s finances.
Stephanie Allen Hart, Board Member
Stephanie was raised in Williams and attended Williams Elementary, Lincoln Savage and Hidden Valley schools. As a child she lived very close to the Pacifica property and spent lots of time riding horses in the fields and swimming in the ponds. Her mother, LouAnn Allen was a huge part of Pacifica in its early days and Stephanie is proud to help to keep Pacifica going. She has been in education her whole life, as a Special Education teacher at Williams and Applegate Schools as well as the building principal at both schools. She is currently Director of Student Services for the Three Rivers School District. Stephanie enjoys camping with her family, hiking and biking in the area and is passionate about caring for our Earth. She loves the Williams valley and community and hopes to see Pacifica continue to grow and support community needs.
Jayda Wood, Chairperson and Board Member
Jayda is a member of the Messinger family, who originally settled the land that is now Pacifica. She is pleased to be part of this non-profit organization that keeps this beautiful property and facility open to the public. She is currently a principal real estate broker with Ramsay Realty, specializing in rural property in the Applegate Valley.
Wendy Lubianetsky, Secretary and Board Member
Wendy graduated from UC Davis in 1987 with a B.S. in Statistical Psychology and a Minor in Mathematics. She worked for NEC Telecommunication and served there as a Senior Sales Engineer for over 15 years. She was Vice President of Advanced Communications Inc. (ACI) for 10 years and then retired to homeschool her children. Wendy moved to Williams to be in an environment of beauty and is committed to the care and the long term welfare of Pacifica.
Ohana Tee Martin, Board Member
Ohana arrived in the Applegate Valley area over 40 years ago and has been at the same residence in Williams since 1984. He and his wife Windsong established the Good Medicine Wildlife Sanctuary to provide a place for events, gatherings, ceremony, and especially to create a preserve for nature. Ohana helped found the Sugarloaf Community Association and served on its board of directors for 10 years. He has initiated and assisted in the production of many large- to medium-size events and hopes to use these skills for the benefit of Pacifica. Ohana has three children and nine grandchildren that keep him on his toes and his eyes on the future.
Richard Reames, Board Member
Richard has resided in Williams, Oregon since 1985. He and his wife Maya built a log house where they still live today. Richard established Arborsmith Studios, where he cultivates and grows living trees into furniture and other artistic creations. He has authored two books on the subject: “How to Grow a Chair” and “Arborsculpture: Solutions for a Small Planet.” Richard instructed the art of Arborsculpture at John C. Campbell School of Folk Art in North Carolina for several years and in 2005 he served as the international coordinator for arborsculpture at the World Expo in Aichi, Japan. He has delivered lectures globally, been featured in publications and showcased his art at various flower and garden shows across the United States. At Pacifica, Richard orchestrated the planting of 113 Giant Sequoia trees in a 100-foot diameter spiraling circle, involving over 60 volunteers. This ‘Sequoia Sanctuary’ is envisioned to evolve into a secluded green space for outdoor events. Richard hopes to continue to apply his artistic talents to the beautification of Pacifica.
Stephen Lubianetsky, Board Member
After a long and successful career, Stephen and his wife Wendy retired to the Williams area to enjoy his love of the beautiful land here. He had lived in Southern California for most of his life, working as a union carpenter as well as a special projects General Contractor. He was a high rise construction specialist and ran some very prominent construction job sites in the Los Angeles Area. Stephen has also participated in events such as competitive musket shooting and axe throwing. His love of the outdoors has made him realize the importance of Pacifica and he hopes to help ensure its continued success for the enjoyment of the residents of the area.
Evelyn Roether, Board Member
Evelyn has lived in Williams since 1987. She has an M.S. in Environmental Education and a B.A. in Geography from Southern Oregon University. She served as coordinator and board member of the Williams Creek Watershed Council for over ten years and previous to that was head gardener at Herb Pharm. Evelyn has also worked for the Applegate River Watershed Council, Bear Creek Watershed Education Project and the Klamath Riverkeeper. She has served on the boards of several local organizations including the Sugarloaf Community Association, Applegate Siskiyou Alliance, Communiversity and Siskiyou Project, and was an elected member of the Williams Town Council/CAC for several terms. She currently represents Williams on the Josephine County Bikeways and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and is on the board of the White Oak Farm and Education Center and the Southern Oregon Living and Dying Alliance. Evelyn is also the author of two local hiking trail guides.
Ray Prag, Co-Founder (1947-2024)
Ray received a B.A. in Botany from the University of Wisconsin, followed by an M.S. in Horticulture from the University of California, Davis. The combination of botany and horticulture and a great love of plants provided Ray with an excellent basis for growing a wide variety of plants from all over the world. He and his wife, Peg, developed Forestfarm Nursery, which produces over 5,000 kinds of plants and became one of the largest mail-order offerings in the country. Ray was a co-founder of Pacifica and served on the board from 1999-2024.
