Education
One of Pacifica’s primary commitments is to educating its visitors about the wonders of science and the natural environment. Our on-site programs include school field trips, multi-day Outdoor School sessions, and summer day camps. In the community, the much-loved Caterpillar, a unique mobile science and nature center, has been taking hands-on programs to budget-tight schools in Josephine & Jackson Counties for over 20 years. Combined, our programs reach over 5,000 children a year. We strive to be a highly visible, community presence saying loud & clear – science and nature are important.
Pacifica doesn’t only offer class-based education, and you’re never too old to learn something new! Pacifica’s property offers a wealth of natural history and botanical knowledge via signage across our grounds, trails, and gardens. We also offer Flora and Fauna ID Sheets that are free to print from our website, or to borrow at the property trail-heads.
